Conversations About Art

You walk into the gallery, pause and take it in.  You are drawn to a particular piece.

What is it that causes you to stop and take it in?  Is it the color?  The subject? The design?

Know something about these elements and the work becomes more vibrant, more alive for you.  Know a bit about the history surrounding the piece and the subject matter and you’ll begin to understand why the work was made.

We invite you to stop by the Studio for a chat and a conversation about art - we look forward to visiting with you!

Clint’s class made me rediscover the love of drawing. Techniques were well explained, easy to understand and follow.
Step by step demonstrations allowed students to build on their skills.

As a quilter, it was becoming clear that an art “basis” would be helpful in creation of art quilts. I reached out to Clint seeking some basic drawing/sketching knowledge to assist us in finding image shadows and light to more effectively select fabrics and to thread sketch.

From my fairly vague desires, Clint developed a custom class for quilters, exploring a set of lines/marks we could use to create texture and contrast, composition, image transfer and resizing.

The class was perfect! All in attendance found it very helpful and are excited to take that knowledge to fiber!

Clint's class was such fun!

Clint is relaxed and positive. He makes everyone feel they are succeeding and improving. I can hardly wait for the next one!

Clint is a master teacher.

In every class he interacts enthusiastically with each student. I’ve been in several of his drawing classes and in each one, he has new techniques and insights to share.

Clint Loomis has offered a wide variety of art classes for our adult education program over the last fifteen years. His classes have always been popular!

Students feel he is an excellent art instructor, but also express how relaxing and fun his classes are for the participants. There is no pressure to “be talented”, but rather to simply enjoy the creative experience.
